Avery's Baptism in Little Neck, New York
Not too long ago I had the absolute pleasure of capturing images for a very special day. Amy and her husband Anil hired me to capture Avery's Baptism at the Immaculate Conception Center in Little Neck, New York. A private ceremony was held with just the close immediate family in attendance for the occasion.
The church was enormous. Adorned with beautiful stained glass throughout, it had plenty of natural lighting and space to move around while being as non intrusive as possible.
Amy and Anil had also planned on having a very short ceremony to declare their love and say their vows before their Priest, as opposed to having a non denominational officiant as they had on their original wedding day. Luckily, I am also a wedding photographer so I was able to effortlessly transition into wedding mode shortly before they began.
Their families, although within different generations and from different backgrounds, had a great bond, respect and understanding of one another. It's always refreshing to see families brought together by a bond that is undeniable between two individuals. One that brings about a new life into this world, inevitably creating an unbreakable and even stronger bond that unites two families into one.
We captured family portraits before the ceremony began as we awaited additional family members to arrive. As we entered the church, I adjusted my camera setting and flash to make sure to get as much natural lighting as possible. Everything went off without a hitch.
Afterwards, we completed our list of family portraits and parted ways. It was short and sweet, yet the weather and lighting were absolutely ideal to capture some really precious portraits for them to cherish for years to come. This family was an absolute delight to work with. Super sweet, accommodating, polite and thankful. One can only hope to always come across these kinds of families when being hired by new clients. =]
